The Role: Project Manager - Vickery (Brisbane, QLD)
An outstanding opportunity has become available for Project Manager to join the Project Delivery team in Brisbane. Reporting to the EGM - Project Delivery, the Project Manager will be responsible for providing consistent, sustainable and effective management direction for the Vickery project within the project delivery portfolio to ensure successful project delivery, continuing improvement in that capability.
To be successful in the role you will:
- Provide clear and focused leadership for the project team.
- Develop and implement construction practices, standards and planning processes for the project and provide direction and advice on construction matters.
- Prepare management plans for construction execution, safety, and environmental factors.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise team performance and deliverables.
- Assist in the review, and ensure implementation and continuous improvement of construction and commissioning management systems, tools and processes to include the review, audit and improvement of construction activities on specific projects across the region.
- Proactively manage costs by conducting regular reconciliations of expenditure against budget, as well as cost reviews to identify risks and opportunities within area of responsibility.
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications, experience and qualities:
- A recognised degree or equivalent qualification or extensive/relevant experience
- A thorough understanding of industrial construction environments and proven supervisory experience in multi-disciplinary teams
- Involvement with projects from approvals all the way through to commissioning and handover to operations.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders including landowners and government agencies.
- Understand and practice lean construction techniques.
- Have experience in procurement, contracts and quality assurance.
- Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant discipline, including experience in project management positions and construction management.
- Knowledgeable in the establishment and application of construction management systems, processes and tools.
